Meet the team
Síofra Hill | Co-Founder
With a funny name like Síofra (pronounced “she-o-fra” and meaning “little fairy” in gaelic) she claims her name was the root of her always loving the unusual and different. An Engineer by profession and Investment Banker by career, but with a passion for design and crafts, Síofra’s head always struggled with her heart when deciding what to do with her life.
With the birth of her daughter, Síofra felt it was the time to take the leap into the entrepreneurial and creative, with the hope of finding the ability to properly balance work and family life. Loving every moment of this new adventure, she uses her career skills, creative flair, and sheer determination to turn her dream into a reality.
When not running the team, seeking out new designers or web designing, Síofra likes to dabble in some make and do (check out our blog) and hike in the hills with her daughter and Scottish husband.
Ruairi Curtin | Co-Founder
After studying Business and Marketing in Dublin, Ruairi left Ireland to work in New York in 1999. Working as a Business Consultant for the Irish Government – he helped some of Irelands best known jewelry businesses export and sell their designs in the US.
Ruairi always had a passion for business. At age nine he started his first company in the schoolyard – by importing and selling fireworks from France, where he spent his summers with family. While the legalities of his industry were questionable, it gave him an early understanding of the fundamentals of business: Find a great product – and bring it to a market that loves it! His ethos holds true, and is at the core of our company today.
Ruairi heads up the US side of Celtic Promise and works hard at making sure our customers hear about our great collections. His knowledge of the jewelry business also ensures that we live up to the highest standards of the industry.
When not working – Ruairi likes traveling to far away lands, and searching out the latest bands in New York’s vibrant music scene. Keep an eye on our blog and maybe he’ll let you in on some of them!
Paul Healion | Co-Founder
A self-professed ‘geek’ Paul leads the technical team for Celtic Promise. While its confusing to the rest of us, his magical codes and computer wizardry ensure we stay at the top of our game with e-commerce today. His vast technical knowledge ensures our customers’ orders are places securely and delivered safely to your door.
Paul grew up in Dublin and after a short stint as a chef, exchanged his apron for a computer and went to study Computer Science. At the height of the Celtic Tiger he moved to New York to develop banking software for a start up Irish company. Since then he left to develop websites for some of Americas best known media groups such as Maxim Magazine.
When not in front of a computer Paul likes to explore and find cool things to do in the city. His favorite pastime however is going to watch his actor-wife in movies and plays in the various theatres of New York. So who said geeks don’t have fun too?
Briain Curtin | Co-Founder
With youth comes exuberance. Briain graduated University in his hometown of Cork in 2007, and has been making waves in the online marketing world ever since. Armed with a mind full of business and internet knowledge he works at one of the worlds largest and best known internet companies, and now moonlights as our online marketing and social media expert at Celtic Promise.
Briain has always been a man of passion. At age five he took to the rugby pitch and barely left the training field throughout his youth. By age 20 he had an impressive string of achievements and accolades, but an unfortunate shoulder injury, and a taste for a cold Guinness put his rugby career on hold. Fortunately for us, it has freed up time for his new obsession; new media, becoming an online social nut!
Keep Briain on his toes by checking out our Facebook page and Blog, where he promises to give some insights into our business and other passions - including planning his wedding next year - and of course, special offers from Celtic Promise.
With Thanks To..
